Executive Director: Ellsworth Community Music Institute (ECMI)

Ellsworth Community Music Institute (ECMI) is actively seeking a dynamic Executive Director to drive ECMI's strategic initiatives, foster development endeavors, manage day-to-day operations, and champion the organization's mission into its next decade. We will provide a highly flexible and supportive work environment and excellent compensation. 

Founded in 2013, ECMI is a 501(c)(3) non-profit community music organization dedicated to enhancing the cultural landscape of Ellsworth and neighboring regions in Downeast Maine. ECMI offers a diverse array of music programs designed to engage individuals of all ages and skill levels, including private music lessons, ensembles, and high quality public performances.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Demonstrated experience providing leadership and strategic direction to an organization while working closely with a Board of Directors. 

• Demonstrated experience in organizational management, including financial oversight, budgeting, reporting, and staff recruitment and supervision.

• Demonstrated experience in fundraising, grant writing, donor cultivation, and revenue generation.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with diverse communities, cultivate partnerships, and represent the organization in public forums

• Understanding of non-profit governance structures, compliance requirements, and fiduciary responsibilities.

• Preference for candidates who possess a deep appreciation of classical music, and who can cultivate enthusiasm and foster interpersonal connections among students, faculty, and the broader community.

Position is currently designed as year-round, 0.75 FTE hybrid remote/onsite in Ellsworth, Maine, but we are willing to be flexible and creative for the right candidate.
